Improving the Creek

The fourth part of our 5 Point Water Action Plan will benefit the area by improving the creek. To achieve the needs of the basin, conversations about water storage should include creek improvement facilities, or CIFs, rather than traditional storage. CIFs are different from storage because they are multiuse (for environmental and human needs), do not affect federally regulated wetlands or water bodies, make water delivery more efficient, and mitigate for increased climate uncertainty. The District will lead the way in conversations around CIFs.
